Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

SageTutor ("we", "us") runs sage-tutor.com, an online service for practising for the IELTS test. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. SageTutor is an independent service and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia or Cambridge University Press & Assessment.

What we collect

If you use the free practice test without an account, your results are stored only in your own browser (local storage). The answers you submit for marking are sent to our server to be checked but are not kept.

How we use it

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

Service providers

We use these processors, which handle data on our behalf under their own data protection terms:

These providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep data

We keep your account and practice results while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and your results within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, email us at the address below. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

SageTutor is intended for learners aged 16 and over. Younger learners should use it only with the permission of a parent or guardian.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell signed-in users.
